Originally from South America. Available all year in massive quantities. Like a jungle near 27th and Lincoln Ave in Golden Gate Park.

All parts are edible. Leaves are super spicy, like the flowers. Immature seed pods are like pods of waabi. Can eat raw to clear sinuses or pickle them. Root (looks like a yellow carrot) good for cleaning liver.

Leaves are leathery and wavy. Long green stem down middle (not purple). Don't like the heat or too cold. Grows like a dandelion (basal rosette).
