Created by John Gutzon de la Mothe Borglum, who also created the Confederate bas relief at Stone Mountain. He was a graduate of Mark Hopkins Institute of Art (now San Francisco Art Institute).
To Eat
The food here is actually decent and reasonably priced — moreso than the other places in Keystone. Elliott says get the burger, avoid the chicken noodle soup. Most importantly, get the Thomas Jefferson ice cream made from his recipe. It costs a dollar extra, and it just tastes like vanilla ice cream, but hey, can't put a price on history.
