Between Chimayo and Taos in New Mexico along Highway 76.
I drove through here on the way to Taos on my Santa Fe (May 2011) trip. It's a gorgeous drive.
Heading north, look out for the left turn near the post office that keeps you on Highway 76. I missed it the first time and started heading toward the gorgeous mountains there:
