Lodging

The Inn of the Governors is right downtown. A lot of local people have their relatives/guests stay there. It's pretty affordable and very accommodating. You'd be able to walk to dinner, etc.

Ten Thousand Waves is awesome. It is about a 10 minute drive from town. You would probably need a car if you stay at the Waves. Especially, if you wanted to see the area at all.

Transportation

You have three choices for transportation from the Sunport :) 1. rent a car -- pretty inexpensive, most convenient and a time-saver. 2. take the Sandia Shuttle -- somewhat convenient and probably for two the same as a car rental. 3. Ride the Rail Runner -- It's no BART -- so not sure that the times/connecting shuttles would work. It's the cheapest, most enviro friendly and, if you stay at the Inn of the Governors, you wouldn't need a car.
