Palomarin Field Station (AKA Point Reyes Bird Observatory) is at:

There you can watch bird-banding demonstrations by appointment from May through November. There's also a short nature trail that winds through a fern-filled canyon.

Originally founded as Point Reyes Bird Observatory in 1965. Read more about the history here[1].
