My favorite part about visiting Phoenix is seeing all of the saguaro, which are found only in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, California, and Mexico. (Saguaro National Park is near Tucson.) They weigh more than eight tons and reach 50 feet (after 200 years). There's a good brief piece about them in the April 2005 issue of United Hemispheres (p34).
