Hammy's Pizza

Reader recommendation in the LA Times: "...be sure you visit Hammy's Pizza on Clinton and 21st in southeast Portland. Not only is it the best-tasting pizza we've ever had, but they also use local organic products and homemade sauces."

Got only 3.5 stars on Yelp as of September 20, 2009. A brief run-through of the reviews listed noted sparsely distributed toppings and an excessively thin (and thus overloaded) crust, and sometimes bland flavor. Hrm. Apparently, great as a local business and as one of the not many late-night options in Portland, but not as a superior pie.
