Cuisine

Cincinnati has its own native cuisine, including Cincinnati Chili and goetta.

Noona's former neighbor blogged about the tour of Cinci she would give to visitors: https://visualingual.wordpress.com/category/cincinnati/

Groceries

Findlay Market (meats). Madison’s. Saigon Market. Eckerlin’s. Krueger’s. Chicken place.

Whole Foods (meats)

Trader Joe’s

Krogers

Hoops

Eden Park near Mirror Lake. Beautiful, recently renovated court. Only one full court, but doesn’t seem widely known yet.

In OTR:

  • Ziegler Park. Often crowded here in the evening.
  • SCPA. Not the best condition. Also, they’ve started locking it off. Easy to jump the fence if you’re comfortable with that.

Neighborhoods

Over-the-Rhine

Many, many breweries.

  • Taft's Ale House, 1429 Race 45202 — impressive renovation of a former church and endless beer selection

  • Vine St., anywhere between Central Pkwy to Liberty, for eats - Senate Pub (gourmet hot dogs), Bakersfield (tacos), A Tavola (wood-fired pizza), Pontiac (smoked meats), Abigail St (small plates, fancy), Holtman's Donuts, Graeter's Ice Cream [Beware: most of these places have at least an hour wait, but then you can poke in at the boutique shops on the same street or even head west to Washington Park]
  • Tacos Gomez at Half Cut
  • Washington Park
  • concert at Music Hall
  • Rookwood Pottery
  • see a play at Ensemble Theatre of Cinci on Vine St

  • Fountain Square - Tyler-Davidson fountain is iconic for Cinci
  • Performances at the Aronoff Center
  • Contemporary Arts Center
  • 21c Museum
  • Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival
  • eat at Arnold's Bar and Grill, 210 E 8th, 45202 - a lot of local history and flavor here

Riverfront

  • Smale Riverfront Park (just west of ballpark). Skystar Wheel — expensive, doesn't go very long or fast, not really worth it.
  • Christian Moerlein Lager House - large menu and drinks selections, outdoor seating, great river view
  • Sawyer Point (where you guys rode those fancy 4-seater bikes)

Mt. Adams

  • Art Walk, Sat. 2-7p
  • Holy Immaculata Church - perched on one edge of this neighborhood, another great view of the city
  • lots of bars and places to eat in this little enclave - you will tone your tush walking around this neighborhood

Eden Park

  • overlook - beautiful view of the river and surrounds
  • Butterfly Show in Krohn Conservatory
  • Cincinnati Art Museum

Clifton

Habanero for tacos, burritos

Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal - dome-shaped train station that houses 3 museums, IMAX

Also, it is the season for Zoo Blooms at our awesome zoo - tons of tulips everywhere. The zoo is in Avondale.

Burgers at Sammy's near Sports Plus (where Elliott and Benjamin play hockey)

Restaurants

Catering
