Cuisine

Cincinnati has its own native cuisine, including Cincinnati Chili and goetta.

Noona's former neighbor blogged about the tour of Cinci she would give to visitors: https://visualingual.wordpress.com/category/cincinnati/

Over-the-Rhine

Many, many breweries.

  • Taft's Ale House, 1429 Race 45202 - brand-spankin' new brewery as of Opening Day, impressive renovation of a former church and endless beer selection
  • Findlay Market - esp. Eli's BBQ (we took you to original location), Pho Lang Thang (for pho), Maverick's chocolate, Blue Over Bakery, dojo gelato
  • Vine St., anywhere between Central Pkwy to Liberty, for eats - Senate Pub (gourmet hot dogs), Bakersfield (tacos), A Tavola (wood-fired pizza), Pontiac (smoked meats), Abigail St (small plates, fancy), Holtman's Donuts, Graeter's Ice Cream [Beware: most of these places have at least an hour wait, but then you can poke in at the boutique shops on the same street or even head west to Washington Park]
  • Washington Park - our front yard!
  • concert at Music Hall
  • Rookwood Pottery
  • see a play at Ensemble Theatre of Cinci on Vine St
  • Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal - dome-shaped train station that houses 3 museums, IMAX

Downtown (Business District)

  • Carew Tower - finally, clear weather this weekend, so take the elevator to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the area
  • Fountain Square - Tyler-Davidson fountain is iconic for Cinci
  • "Lion King" at the Aronoff Center
  • Contemporary Arts Center
  • 21c Museum
  • "Taming of the Shrew" at Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival
  • eat at Arnold's Bar and Grill, 210 E 8th, 45202 - a lot of local history and flavor here

Riverfront

  • walk through Smale Park (just west of ballpark)
  • Christian Moerlein Lager House - large menu and drinks selections, outdoor seating, great river view
  • Sawyer Point (where you guys rode those fancy 4-seater bikes)

Eden Park

  • overlook - beautiful view of the river and surrounds
  • Butterfly Show in Krohn Conservatory
  • Cincinnati Art Museum

Mt. Adams (next to Eden Park)

  • Art Walk, Sat. 2-7p
  • Holy Immaculata Church - perched on one edge of this neighborhood, another great view of the city
  • lots of bars and places to eat in this little enclave - you will tone your tush walking around this neighborhood

Also, it is the season for Zoo Blooms at our awesome zoo - tons of tulips everywhere. The zoo is in Avondale.
