To Stay

Coffee Shops

  • Blue Stripes Cacao Shop. Good spot to work or hang out. Highly recommend!
  • Daily Provisions. Lots of locations. Specialize in crullers, which were solid, but not destination-worthy. Tiny, but enough space to work (and they have free WiFi) on a quiet Sunday morning.

To Do

To Eat

  • Gelateria Gentile. They have lots of locations.
  • L'Industrie. Original is in Brooklyn. Folks say this spot is just as good. The pizza is solid, and I like the vibe, but it's not worth a long wait. If you're going to go, go on a weekday, when the line is manageable.

Greenwich Village

To Eat

  • Merriweather. Good spot for healthy food.
  • Russ & Daughters. The original location, but they have lots of locations now, including Hudson Yards.

  • Veselka. Ukrainian food. Been here forever. Used to be one of Eun-Joung's spots when she lived here.
  • Jazba. Hipster Indian street food. It was good!
  • Lily recommends Casa Adela for Puerto Rican

  • Cho Dang Gol. Homey, tasty spot. Make their own tofu. Definitely recommend.
  • Woorijib. For grab-and-go Korean food.
