Union Square
To Stay
- Hyatt Union Square New York. In the heart of Union Square, convenient, great service. Around the corner from Strand Book Store. Stayed there with EJ in Summer 2024.
Coffee Shops
- Blue Stripes Cacao Shop. Good spot to work or hang out. Highly recommend!
- Daily Provisions. Lots of locations. Specialize in crullers, which were solid, but not destination-worthy. Tiny, but enough space to work (and they have free WiFi) on a quiet Sunday morning.

West Village
To Do
- Stonewall Memorial Park in Christopher Square
To Eat
- Gelateria Gentile. They have lots of locations.
- L'Industrie. Original is in Brooklyn. Folks say this spot is just as good. The pizza is solid, and I like the vibe, but it's not worth a long wait. If you're going to go, go on a weekday, when the line is manageable.
Greenwich Village
